The
account of Abraham's sacrificial given as stated in Genesis 22: 1-19
as over the year been duly explained. However, looking at the story
again, I discovered that in my over Thirty-five years of reading and
listening to the story one important attribute of a choristers has
been opted .i.e paying attention to details. A good choristers must
be mindful of the details in songs especially church music. Church
music comprises mainly of two component, the melody (rhythm) and the
message (lyrics). A choristers must decipher the message, interpret it
appropriately and typify the message.
I
salient point I av missed in the story of Abraham's sacrifices of
Isaac over the years is the difference between a lamb and a ram. In
Genesis 22 vs 7 Issac asked his Father (Abraham) “Where is the lamb
for
the sacrifice” Abraham in verse 8 of the same chapter prophetically
answered and said God himself will provide the lamb
for
the sacrifice in verse 13 after the angel had appeared to Abraham,
Abraham discovered a ram
in
the thicket. Abraham made a sacrifice of ram not a lamb. A lamb was
however provided as a sacrifice at Calvary. John 3:- 16 “For God so
love the world that he gave his one and only Son, that who so ever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. God
provided a sacrificial lamb (Jesus Christ)in response to Isaac's
request and as a fulfillment of Abraham's prophecy.
Like
I postulated before, a chorister must be conscious of the little
details. Every word in the bible is significant and important. As
Christians we should always take note of the specific words in the
bible and apply them. We therefore can conclude that God's wills are
indeed wondrous and unsearchable.
